Programming is Passion

Introduction

I always wondered about people who were so great at whatever it is they were doing at that point—how do they learn and what is their motivation in terms of their work? I was always very curious about that, but until very late, it felt like it was impossible to figure out. One thing that curiosity taught me is patience for everything. I learned my lesson that we get everywhere at the right time when needed, so we shouldn't always hurry for things.

Main Topic

I want to share resources for learning programming and possibly anything in general that you want here since I'm fortunate enough to have a place where I can actually interact with everyone. Back then when I was learning programming myself, I didn't know about all these resources, but I'm now very glad I found these people in life and got inspired by them about my future.

YouTube Channels

Listed below are all the youtube channels that I use to watch whenever I was young and I was just starting out learning new web development or programming skills in general. I've learned so much from these poeple and I hope you'll learn a lot from them as well

The New Boston - Bucky Roberts

Massive thanks to this person; he's really a legend and a great teacher, probably one of the best I've seen in my life. Even if now his videos are kind of outdated, I'd say for getting the basics clear for any language, his channel is still the best one.

Dev Tips - Travis Neilson

Again, massive thanks to Travis. I learned so much about web development, and everything I know today, I owe a lot to him. He's my personal favorite and top-level mentor. Loved his content and everything he ever put out there on YouTube. He was probably one of the first few people who started this trend of full project development in tutorials.

Giraffe Academy - Mike

Professional, quality, intelligent—that's how I'd describe his content and the man himself. He did a lot of good for people and new learners for a very long time. It was really a great experience learning from him.

Traversy Media - Brad Traversy

How can I forget probably one of the most inspiring people on this list? He not only taught me how to be a good developer but also how to tackle the challenges we all face as developers, like dealing with imposter syndrome and other problems. Despite his own lows, he always taught us and inspired us to be the best version of ourselves, and I really respect him as a mentor and as a person.

Derek Bananas - Derek

He is still probably one of the few people who creates some of the greatest crash courses for those who want to quickly go through a video without spending ages learning the same basics over and over again. That's why I had to mention his name.

Code With Mosh - Mosh Hamedani

Mosh is one of the few course instructors who actually guarantees 100% learning rate if you focus and put your own self-time and effort into his courses or videos. He's really good at teaching, explaining things, and he also has a very soothing voice, lol.

Net Ninja - Jake

He's one of the youngest but still one of the best YouTubers in this field who actually makes quality content. I learned a lot from him as well, be it React or Angular.

Fireship IO - Jeff

You know I love this channel so much; I'd never want to lose this channel in my life ever. I hope that explains enough about this channel; I don't think anything else needs to be said here.

Web Dev Simplified - Kyle

He is simple, ironically, but everything he teaches kind of sits inside my mind automatically without much hassle. I think there's something about the way he teaches that makes me remember everything with very great detail. Love this channel too.

FreeCodeCamp

This is a great learning resource after The New Boston because this channel not only gives an opportunity to other small developers or YouTubers who are just starting out a way to communicate and spread their knowledge and ideas with others, but it also teaches a lot more than just web development, be it game dev, web dev, blockchain, etc.

Google Developer Channel

This is such a great channel in terms of providing useful information and knowledge to developers who aren't working in or for Google. I really love Surma and Jake for their HTTP 203 series and Surma especially for the Super Charge series. It was such a great time, and I really miss those things.

Una Kravets - Una Kravets

She is a Google Developer Expert for web standards and platforms. When I say this, trust me, she is awesome—just search for her "Designing in the Browser" series, and you'll fall in love with her as well. Trust me :3

Code With Harry - Harry

He's one of the best Indian YouTubers I've seen on YouTube who actually makes quality content, not just anything random. So if you prefer Hindi YouTubers, then you can go for this one.

Books

I didn't really use to read a lot of books in my days when I was learning, so I don't have many great suggestions, but O'Reilly or Programming For Dummies are probably some of the best book authors I've seen in the programming field for written resources.

Conclusion

I hope this blog helped you find the right mentor for yourself in any journey you want to take after reading this blog. Please make sure to leave some feedback using the contact form up top or down below :3 That way, I'll know you liked it, and I can continue writing new blogs for you guys just like this one. Also, you can let me know while you're at it how I can improve my blogs for you or if I missed your favorite YouTubers—let me know.

console.log("Thanks for reading!");

Create Your Own Portfolio

I created this portfolio for developers because I find many developers are not having their own portfolio. I hope this shouldn't be too hard to copy - Coming Soon
